Solotica Hidrocharme Ice

Sunday, June 23, 2013
Hey guys, sorry about the GIANT hiatus. I've spent the last 9 months preggo and our little star is finally here- Hooray! I've decided to devote more time to lens reviews since I will be working at my day job from home for a long time now and I will be able to sneak in some Blogger time as well ;)

I bought some lenses from wrlens.com- Solotica Hidrocharme in "Ice".  Here's a pic:

This is normal lighting with my crappy cell phone camera XD

Here's a breakdown:

Color: 9.5
I think these lenses are GORGEOUS! The only thing keeping them from a 10 is that the limbal ring doesn't fade into the icy color very well, but you can't tell unless you're up close. My eyes are naturally medium-ish brown and you can see the color blends beautifully in with my own.

Price: 7
On wrlens.com, these lenses are about $98 (U.S. currency).  Not horrible, but pretty dang expensive for those of us who have to buy diapers on a regular basis. On the plus side, they last for a year if you take really good care of them.

Comfort: 6
Unfortunately, these lenses dried my eyes out pretty bad after only a few hours of wear. I had to keep putting in drops and ultimately by the end of the day, the right one was sticking to my eyelid everytime I blinked, so I had to take them out and let them soak overnight. (And let my eyes recuperate.)

Enlargement: 0
These aren't Korean circle lenses, so don't expect any enlargement effect.

Overall: 7.5
The biggest selling point on these lenses is the beautiful color.  They look very natural and if you want a lot of compliments, they are good to go... just be sure you have lots of eyedrops with you!

*Note: I also have the Hidrocor from Solotica in Ice; the only difference is there is no limbal ring, everything else is the same. Sorry I don't have a pic but I tore one of them by accident and had to throw them out. (It's like flushing $100 down the drain #facepalm)

Super Pinky Purple!

Friday, January 20, 2012
Ok guys, here's my official first post with pic! These are Super Pinky Violet lenses that I bought from Honeycolor.com. (Nope, I'm not getting paid to plug them.... yet! *nudge nudge*)

(My natural eye color is medium brown)

Sorry about the quality, I'm using my Dell's built in webcam and couldn't quite get the lighting right, but basically I'm just using my bedroom's light. Let me break down my opinion of these lenses for you.

-Color- 10
This color pops! No matter what lighting you are using, it is very vibrant and definitely noticeable.

-Comfort- 8
The only reason I didn't give comfort a 10 is because at the end of the day, they shifted a little bit on me, but it's not that dry, icky feeling you can get with other lenses. They lasted all day and I hardly knew they were there.

-Enlargement- 9
Circle lenses are generally known to give you a large dolly eye look and these succeed in achieving that. I actually wore these to work today which was probably not a great idea because I work in a professional office, lol. People were looking at me like "Uhmmm... wtf?"

You probably don't want to wear these to work, simply because people can tell they aren't natural. Outside of the workplace however, I get lots of compliments, people want to know where I got them and how much they love the color. Oh and one more thing- you most likely want to wear some eye makeup to tone down the shock factor... unless that's what you're going for!
